Increasing Access to Lifesaving Resources for Individuals Facing Mental Health Challenges
The Challenge

More than one in five U.S. adults experience mental illness each year, yet stigma and misinformation continue to prevent many from seeking the help they need. Mental illness affects individuals, families, and communities — and, if left untreated, can result in increased trauma and significant societal costs. Reaching those impacted — especially in vulnerable populations — requires timely, accurate information, greater access to existing resources, and supportive outreach to encourage treatment and recovery.
Our Solution
IQ Solutions leverages strategic communications to disseminate critical information on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders, from anxiety disorders and depression to suicide prevention and post-traumatic stress disorder. Through the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Information Resource Center (IRC), we conduct targeted outreach — such as conference exhibits, stakeholder engagement, and email campaigns — and develop multilingual educational materials, digital content, and social media assets to maximize public engagement and information dissemination.
The Impact
We managed 26 exhibits (virtual, in person, and conference advertising), reaching over 13,000 patients and health care providers with more than 12,000 NIMH publications. IQS, on behalf of the NIMH IRC, responds to more than 13,000 inquiries annually, connecting individuals with vital mental health information and support. These efforts have increased visibility of the institute and its resources, helped reduce stigma around mental illness, and promoted proactive engagement with mental health resources.
