Connecting Millions to Trusted Information on Aging

The Challenge

Steps to take after a dementia diagnosis: learn about dementia, see doctors as recommended, find local services and resources, make legal and financial plans, make home changes for safety, and consider joining a clinical trial.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) leads the nation in healthy aging research and is the primary federal authority on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. NIA’s mission depends on delivering accurate, easy-to-understand health information to millions of older adults, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers. Managing high volumes of public inquiries, educational materials, and digital content across multiple platforms made consistency and timeliness difficult. These evolving expectations highlighted the need for a more unified, user-centered approach to delivering trusted resources at scale.

Our Solution

IQS partnered with NIA to transform how trusted aging and dementia information is delivered at scale. We unified content development and digital delivery, turning complex science into clear, actionable guidance for older adults, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers. By modernizing web content, educational materials, and digital resources, we improved discoverability, usability, and engagement—helping NIA deliver consistent, timely information that people could quickly find, understand, and use to make informed decisions.

The Impact

IQS has helped NIA reach 93 million website visitors across 10 websites, respond to more than 107,000 public inquiries, and distribute more than 1 million publications. We created thousands of content assets and social media posts to deepen engagement, expand access to trusted information on aging, and empower older adults, caregivers, and clinicians nationwide to make more informed decisions.

Impact metrics: 93 million website visitors while managing 10 public-facing websites; 107,000 inquiries and distribution of more than 1 million publications connecting audiences with critical aging resources; and a 2026 Gold Hermes Award for the “Taking care of someone with Dementia” video.
