IQ Solutions Wins the National Institutes of Health Climate Change and Health Initiative Web Content Development/Management Support Services Contract
IQ Solutions has been awarded a contract by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support the work of the NIH Climate Change and Heath Initiative (NIH-CCHI).
NIH-CCHI is an urgent, cross-cutting NIH-wide effort to reduce health threats from climate change. NIH-CCHI aims to help build health resilience in individuals, communities, and nations around the world, especially among those at highest risk. As the planet warms, oceans expand and sea levels rise, floods and droughts become more frequent and intense, and heat waves and hurricanes become more severe.
Health effects from climate change may result from various exposure pathways such as extreme heat, poor air quality, reduced food and water quality, changes in infectious agents, and population displacement. People may suffer from disease or illnesses such as asthma, cancer, reproductive abnormalities, mental health issues, and other effects from being vulnerable due to extreme weather events (e.g., hurricanes, fires). NIH-CCHI aims to support research and build a community to reduce a broad scope of health threats from climate change across the lifespan.
IQ Solutions is developing a new website for NIH-CCHI, which will launch in the spring of 2024. The site will highlight research, funding opportunities, and the NIH-CCHI partners supporting this effort. For instance, NIH-CCHI has already funded:
- 1 Research Coordinating Center
- 2 National Hazards Centers and Facilities
- 4 Awards for Alliance for Community Engagement – Climate and Health
- 5 Centers for Exploratory Grants for Climate Change
- 15 NIH Climate and Health Scholars
IQ Solutions is honored to be working side by side with the NIH-CCHI committee to develop the content and website for this exciting new initiative.
This award from NIH-CCHI signals IQ Solutions’ move deep into the environmental health arena. The threats to health and safety from a warming climate have been well-defined by multiple scientific studies. We are ready to move the communications and digital expertise that we have applied to other prevention and health education topics to address environment-based issues. Providing people with data to make informed choices through excellence in research, message design, and accessible digital portals for ease of audience access and content comprehension, has been IQ’s strength in government spaces for over 30 years.
